Project Description:
This is my hydrogen generator.
I was snooping around on the net to find a way to get better MPG, I had been looking over everything regarding the GEET (Paul Pantone's PMC) for a few years, I'm from france and they are pretty active about that over there (over 100 "retro-fits" described on www.quanthomme.org -- check it out for more info (in french though).
Then I ended up on PESWiki. I found Andrew's page (http://waterpoweredcar.com/hydrobooster2.html) who helped me and sent me parts.
I built his prototype, and melted the lid (! - Cables were smoking :-O ), due to a short.
So I saw Chris's prototype made with walmart Cereal boxes, and decided to go take a look in their alleys.
I'm lucky, I have a big space next to my washer fluid tank, so I grabbed a big box for keeping bread.
Here it is ! I can put like a gallon and a half, in it, I won't be stopping too often to refill it !

Nota : at first I used KOH, I ran out during my experiments so I tried Baking soda. 1 tsp, and you go up to 50A ! Easy to find, and with one box, I'm off for at least a year !
I now use distilled water from walmart at 65c a Gal.

the back

You want to sand the plates to create tiny sharp edges (GreenEggs enlightened me about that in the forum). You know how the bubbles in champagne or other gaseous ( <-- is that word correct english ? not quite sure, let me know :-) beverages are created ? They appear only on tiny dust spots, or other "impurities" and asperities, like deffects on the glass. If you took a really, really clean crystal glass, there would be no or few bubbles.
There is something every one talks about on the net : http://eepybird.com/dcm1.html check out the explanation, you'll understand.
I think it's something important to think about to improve our hydrogen cells.

Another row of 21 plates, which makes a total of 33. In series, they draw about 8 V. The 12 first alone would draw 10-11 V.
You can notice I need to take care of my toenails too :-D (yuck ! Clovis, you're disgusting ! :-D )
