yes it works..but it sucks for efficiency...this was my first design...
although I used a DOUBLE-HELIX...rather than two-mono-directional wraps.

there just isn't enough surface area and current to git'er done efficiently...
I used a wooden paint stirrer rather than pvc tube though.

I have been tempted to try a wire design also ,its possible I might have access to about 30lbs of 316SIL(very hard to work with). Soooo Two big spools one inside the other?? OR maybe several coils side by side like cells and run them in series?? Is it worth the bother, beats me. It must all come down to surface area at some point I would think. BUT.. I have thought wrong before

I posted a pic I made a while back of a proposed spiral conical cell
that would be stacked on top of eachother wired in parrallel.
I still think it's a goer so long as the power input is kept low via a
dc to dc convertor. Cheers !
