Nah, forget about the cams. Go with the Mag Valves. If you're gonna make such an experimental engine, you may as well go the whole hog and really wow them. Plus the Mag Valves will give you a lot more flexibility with the valve timeing and such.

true.... with some programming a proper chip to drive it, you could adjust the pulse width and intensity and everything. and say you needed to adjust just one aspect..... a slight adjustment of a pot and done- instead of re-grinding cams or adjusting cam timing.

in my eyes, i would like to see a bit of rubber on the valve stem, near the top, so that it would limit the downstroke similar to the rubber bumper used on a vehicle to limit the struts from fully compressing.

Well the circuit shown in my project is going to be modified to provide a PWM output (resistor protected and fused....) that will be controllable to allow a lift variation at the turn of a knob and a duration change at the turn of another knob.

I have probably $600 into the engine and the valve parts already. Still less than 1 cam. And....I can adjust it when complete to allow the changes to the lift and duration, without waiting and shipping and grinding costs, I can play with various cam profiles in an instant. Fathom that....No need to send out a camshaft....

Well I guess my wallet won't be "shafted" anytime soon!!!
