So, here is a picture of the funky sawtooth oscillations I saw with contaminated distilled water in my 2 plate coated glass cell.  The power source under a load would generate a sinewave, but once the electrolyzer was connected, triangle and sawtooth waves were created, along with sub-harmonic frequencies.  It looks like aluminum does funny things to a non-caustic water source in a cell...
